Handy tips to increase your whole grain consumption |
- Eat a whole grain breakfast cereal.
- Eat whole grain bread or toast instead of white bread or white toast.
- Try wholemeal pita bread, wholemeal English muffins or rye bread (Pumpernickel).
- Taste brown rice or whole wheat pasta instead of white varieties.
- Why not try rolled oats?
- Stews and casseroles thickened with wholemeal flour, brown rice or wheat bran are a good choice for lunch or dinner.
- Try whole grain sandwiches or rolls with your favourite filling.
- Try salads with grains including tabouli or brown rice.
- What about whole grain mini pizzas, whole grain cracker biscuits or whole grain biscuits and muffins?
- Eat grain-based nutritious snack bars.
