ÖDT AB is a ltd company registered in 1995. Owners of the company are Dr Anders Frid and Dr Jan Apelquist, both also holding senior positions at the Clinic of Endocrinology, University Hospital MAS, Malmö, Sweden. The company has three full-time employees. All three are nurses with a university level education in diabetology and all three have a degree as science nurse, one has an education in monitoring scientific studies.
The main focus of the company has been clinical studies of drugs in phase II and phase III, in collaboration with the pharmaceutical industry. The company has taken part in seven large clinical trials the last five years. The last four years ÖDT AB has been involved in studies concerning metabolic effects of different foods, in collaboration with the division of Applied Nutrition and Food Chemistry at the Lund institute of technology. The company also provides consultant services to the pharmaceutical industry and gives courses in diabetology for medical personnel. ÖDT AB is registered at the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare as an independent producer of medical services in the field of diabetes and endocrinology. The company have insurances covering liability and damage of the same kind as private clinics.
There is within the company a broad knowledge of how to perform scientific work according to the rules of GCP (Good Clinical Practice) and GLP (Good Laboratory Practice)
