Department of Human Nutrition, the Royal Veterinary and Agricultural University:
The focus of the research is the role of diets in relation to growth, development and for the prevention and treatment of degenerative diseases (e.g. cardiovascular diseases, obesity, and osteoporosis). The Department has facilities for metabolic balance studies in humans, including a specially equipped kitchen for preparation of intervention diets. It has a well equipped laboratory with facilities for blood sampling, auto-analysers for enzymatic measurements, ELISA and DELFIA etc. The Department is equipped with an indirect calorimeter for measurements of energy expenditure and with a Dual-energy X-ray absorption (DEXA) which is used to measure body composition.
